Tailor-made for the TJP, this Cabaret Magique by Compagnie 14:20 showcases the full diversity of new magic. First up is Rémi Lasvènes' weightless juggling, in which the mischievous balls do as they please, as if they had a life of their own. Arthur Chavaudret invites the audience to join in his fantasies. As for Johanna Ehlert, she plays with an autonomous puppet, while Compagnie Alogique struggles with a paper ball that is as endearing as it is mischievous and moving. This range of proposals is full of mystery and enchantment, accompanied on the piano by Madeleine Cazenave. Proof of the inventiveness of a creative discipline where research is king.


Created in 2000, the Cie 14:20 is at the origin of the New Magic artistic movement, which places the imbalance of the senses and the detour of reality at the heart of artistic issues. Magic is asserting itself as an autonomous, contemporary, popular and abundant language, which is spreading through creations, support for young artist-authors, companionship and educational transmission (Centre national des Arts du Cirque, École nationale supérieure des Arts du Cirque and École nationale supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre). Founding members Clément Debailleul, Valentine Losseau and Raphaël Navarro Since then, they have multiplied their prestigious collaborations with fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier, writer Michel Butor, choreographer Philippe Decouflé, chef Alexandre Gauthier, conductor Laurence Equilbey, Cirque du Soleil and trumpeter Ibrahim Maalouf. Whether it's installations, shows, magical evenings or exhibition scenography, they do it all.
