Choreographer Radhouane El Meddeb draws inspiration from the poem When love beckons, follow itby Khalil Gibran. A woman and three men converse, each in turn with the compositions of pianist Nicolas Worms, performed by Clément Darlu. Their explorations of love involve a transfiguration of beings through passion. With delicacy, gestures defy slowness, spinning or gushing in a bodily homage to the Lebanese mystic. In The Prophetfrom which these exquisite free verses are taken, the author (1883-1931) traces the story of a man in search of happiness, ecstasy and goodness, without being in any way moralistic. The writing of the movement has all the qualities of a carnal and spiritual elixir, of immersion in the intimacy of the performers. It offers time for gaze and introspection, passion for inspired interpretations and depth for a half-naked space. The fervor ofLOVE-The plural S that embraces them is lively and sensual.

Trained at the Institut supérieur d'Art dramatique in Tunis, Radhouane El Meddeb in 1996 by the Tunisia section of the International Theatre Institute. There, he collaborated with Fadhel Jaîbi, Taoufik Jebali and Mohamed Driss, leading artists in the Arab world. In 2005, theater was no longer enough for him, and he signed his first solo To put an end to ME. An intimate introspection as much as a vital experience, this revelation led him to dance and to become a choreographer-performer. Spotted at the Rencontres chorégraphiques de Carthage, he founded the Compagnie de SOI in 2006. The body and its imagination play an essential role in his work. His solo Beneath their feet, paradiseco-written with Thomas Lebrun, Back when Arabs danced... or the touching To my father, a last dance and a first kiss. He reveals himself and weaves a delicate link between his story and those of the audience. His latest creation, The White Rose Cabaretwas presented in February 2024 at Le Manège, Scène nationale de Reims.

" In this original quest, the dancers appear somehow and disappear for some reason. The pianist is not there to accompany them. He evolves in his own story, in a close relationship with his music and his instrument. "
