Eighteen minutes and thirty-four seconds - that's how long it took Eliott to finish last in the school cross-country race. The teenager rejected by the group is considered slow. Too slow for a world in search of efficiency and performance. The others shun him, and the humiliations follow one after the other, to the point where he feels the need to retreat to a cabin in the middle of nowhere, as the Walden by Henry David Thoreau. Choreographer Thomas Guerry and his director brother Bertrand Guerry create the coexistence of two possible life trajectories. Live cameras are used to project images onto a large screen. The dance is inspired by the movements of the living, accentuating the differences in speed and energy of the five performers. Between dreamlike cinema and reverie embodied by the bodies, different ways of being in the world collide in an ode to slowing down, inner contemplation and the imaginary. In the face of collective injunctions, each individual becomes an organic sounding board for tendrils and micro-movements. In this pivotal moment of identity and social construction, which is also the moment when the world order is called into question, circuitous routes provide resilience in the face of trauma.

Born in 1978, Thomas Guerry trained at the Conservatoire National de Région de Lyon, then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse. He honed his skills with Odile Duboc, Fabrice Ramalingom, Hélène Cathala, Betty Jones... A performer with Carnets Bagouet and Thomas Lebrun, he founded the Arcosm company in 2001, with composer Camille Rocailleux. In 2015, Thomas Guerry began exploring the relationship between dance and image, notably through the contribution of film. The company has developed as many variations on the human condition, unafraid to question gravity with a hint of hindsight and self-deprecation. Parallel to his work as a choreographer, he has also delved into the world of theater and acting, directing And why not the moon?and helped write the feature film My brothers, with Bertrand Guerry and Sophie Davout. His choreographic work brings to the script a sharp eye for the destruction of the main character's body.
