Ayako Okubo offers a unique listening experience with a light box full of surprises, just waiting to be explored. Each of the compartments and drawers contains ceramic sound objects (aquaphones and chimes), invented from scratch by Kapitolina Tcvetkova, or designed from the study of various wind and percussion instruments. In the center, a basin filled with water recalls life in utero, the amplification of sounds and their echo. The musical space tinkles, vibrates and unfolds, bringing the resonances and gestures of this unusual instrumentarium to young eardrums. Music, set design and lighting were conceived in collaboration with psychologist Estelle Galati Oliveri, to match the understanding of the world and the development of a child under the age of 3. PTITÉCOUTI develops their ability to concentrate on the sound elements addressed to them. This is a natural progression for HANATSUmiroir's artistic co-director, who regularly works in early childhood centres, helping children to develop an auditory understanding of their environment.

Created in 2010 by flutist Ayako Okubo and percussionist Olivier MaurelHANATSUmiroir evolves between the search for new avenues and the creation of new works. In a total hybridization, it crosses musical gestures, acoustic spaces, aesthetics and ways of thinking, writing and transmitting music. HANATSUmiroir has commissioned numerous works by composers from different horizons. The scenic dimension always plays a major role in its creations, with the team comprising musicians, a lighting designer, scenographers, dancers and visual artists. Since 2012, the ensemble has devoted part of its activity to early childhood audiences, through various mediation formats brought together in the HANATSUmini device. Since 2020, it has incorporated into its creative process the instrumental prototypes of the Association pour la Recherche et la Promotion d'une Facture Instrumentale peu Commune, created by Léo Maurel in the field of new lutheries.
